Job Description:

The Instructional Leader VET will be responsible for leading schoolwide excellence in pedagogical, curriculum and assessment practices. They will also support the implementation of new pedagogies for learning in their key learning area(s).

Key duties include demonstrating and leading exemplary, innovative and evidence-based real-world learning practice in selecting, organising and evaluating the content and delivering learning and teaching programs in the curriculum specialty.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance with NSW Education Standards Authority and Australian Government requirements for syllabus interpretation and implementation, programming, assessment, reporting and evaluation for each VET course.

They will track student performance within the faculty and ensure that effective assessment, responsiveness to data, timely feedback and differentiation are embedded within teaching programs and practices.

The Instructional Leader will monitor teachers' goal setting related to performance and evaluate the achievement of set goals. They will contribute to and coordinate the growth of VET opportunities within Stages 5 and 6.

Collaboration with the Leader of Pathways and Partnerships is essential to establish external partnerships that support the learning of VET. The Instructional Leader will also collaborate with other team members as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A tertiary qualification in Education.
  • Eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
