About Our School

St Mary's Cathedral College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced teacher for the position of Instructional Leader VET (Years This full-time role is scheduled to commence on Monday, 15 September 2025 (or by negotiation).

The Instructional Leader VET (Years 9-12) position is a 1-point promotional role, temporary for up to 3 years, however your teaching position will be full-time and permanent.

About the Role

The Instructional Leader forms part of the middle leadership team. The position is co-responsible with the Pastor, Principal and other Catholic lay leaders for the evangelising and catechising mission of the Church within an educational context. Reporting to the Leader of Curriculum and Assessment, the Instructional Leader plays a vital role in ensuring that the SCS values of empathy, excellence, truth, curiosity and collaboration are drivers for establishing a thriving Catholic community.

The Instructional Leader is responsible for leading schoolwide excellence in pedagogical, curriculum and assessment practices and supporting the implementation of new pedagogies for learning in their key learning area(s). The Instructional Leader is an exemplary practitioner who builds the capacity of teachers to deliver excellent student outcomes.

Key Duties

In this position, your primary duties will include :

• demonstrating and leading exemplary, innovative and evidence-based real-world learning practice in selecting, organising and evaluating the content and delivering learning and teaching programs in the curriculum specialty
• ensuring compliance with NSW Education Standards Authority and Australian Government requirements for syllabus interpretation and implementation, programming, assessment, reporting and evaluation for each VET course
• tracking student performance within the faculty and ensuring that effective assessment, responsiveness to data, timely feedback and differentiation are embedded within teaching programs and practices
• monitoring teachers' goal setting related to performance and evaluating the achievement of set goals
• contributing to and coordinating the growth of VET opportunities within Stages 5 and 6
• collaborating with the Leader of Pathways and Partnerships to establish external partnerships that support the learning of VET
• collaborating, where necessary, with the Instructional Leader : TAS to ensure cooperative practices and effective alignment in common areas
• the ability to teach VET Construction and / or Financial Services is advantageous.

You will have attained :

a tertiary qualification in Educationeligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
