The University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Regional Property Manager to oversee the management, performance, and strategic planning of our regional, rural, and suburban properties. This is a critical role that plays a key part in ensuring our properties meet operational, financial, and strategic goals while complying with relevant regulations and lease obligations.
Key Responsibilities- Property Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of our properties, including preparing and maintaining a register of all land and assets, tracking and managing rights and obligations under occupancy agreements, and ensuring compliance with lease/ licence obligations, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Lease Management: Obtain and maintain lease documents and related legal agreements for all properties, ensuring critical lease data is captured within our property management system.
- Asset Management: Manage off-campus owned and occupied properties to ensure the University meets obligations, compliance, and statutory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Be the main point of contact for each property and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient operations, maintenance, and upkeep of assets.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats affecting the properties and identify and manage risks associated with properties.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver the annual maintenance plan for each field station in consultation with Asset Management, Facilities Management, Faculties, Steering Committees, and Research Reference Groups to ensure efficient management, research, education, clinical, and conservation outcomes.
- Leadership: Provide leadership and direction, encourage a collaborative and cooperative work environment, and develop productive relationships with key stakeholders such as local health districts and crown lands management.
- Reporting: Provide regular management reporting and information on key aspects of property performance to facilitate effective decision-making.
- Qualifications: Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent competency gained through any other combination of education, training, and/or a minimum of 7+ years' experience in commercial and residential portfolio management.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of NSW statutory and regulatory requirements in regard to Crown Lands legislation, interpreting lease/ licence agreements, and Crown Lands reporting requirements.
- Skills: High-level communication, interpersonal, and networking skills, self-motivated, confident, and driven with ability to work autonomously as well as in a remote team environment as required.
- Experience: Proven ability to provide leadership and direction, excellent communication (written & oral), negotiation, and problem-solving skills, and current NSW drivers' licence with willingness to travel within NSW as required.
