Health and Physical Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated, passionate and highly engaging Health and Physical Education professional to join our team. This is a full-time position commencing in Term 2, 2025 until December 31st, 2025.

Sacred Heart College has a long-standing history of high performance and achievement in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Outdoor Education. The successful applicant will demonstrate their ability to support and foster high performance to continue to enhance the HPE team.

Your responsibilities as an HPE professional include:

  • Teaching Health and Physical Education to students in years 7-10.
  • Supporting and promoting a standard of excellence in Health and Physical Education.
  • Being flexible and adaptable in implementing differentiation in the classroom.
  • Effectively managing a Pastoral Care Group (PCG).
  • Working collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all colleagues to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
Selection Criteria

The following selection criteria are essential for this position:

  • Ability to teach Health and Physical Education to students in years 7-10.
  • Participating effectively and collaboratively within the current team.
  • Experience in designing and delivering differentiated units of work.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the current Western Australian Curriculum to develop effective learning outcomes for students.
  • High level of organisational and planning skills to support various sporting competitions.
  • Active participation in extracurricular activities.
  • Awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
Qualifications Required

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must possess:

  • An undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
