About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Project Officer to deliver partnerships for the Culturally Safe Cancer Care Project in partnership with the Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with community and key stakeholders, and delivering all aspects of this project.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people attending Barwon Health, Colac Area Health and Great Ocean Road Health.

Job Description

Culturally Safe Cancer Care Project

The Project Officer will work closely with the Wathaurong Aboriginal Cooperative to improve access to culturally appropriate cancer care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build strong relationships with community members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a project plan to achieve the project's objectives
  • Engage with community members and key stakeholders to gather information and build support for the project
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and other organizations to deliver the project's outcomes
  • Monitor and evaluate the project's progress, and make recommendations for improvement

Requirements

  • Degree in a related field (e.g. health, social science)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with community members and stakeholders
  • Experience working on projects that involve community engagement and partnership-building
