About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Clinician to join our team at headspace Oran Park. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with young people and their families to identify support needs, goals, and develop collaborative care plans. You will provide high-quality psycho-social assessments and evidence-based interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of young people's mental health needs
  2. Develop and implement individualized care plans to address mental health issues
  3. Provide evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other focused psychological strategies
  4. Collaborate with other team members and external service providers to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
  1. Current full AHPRA registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, or occupational therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for occupational therapists in mental health), or accreditation with the AASW as a mental health social worker (or working towards this)
  2. Experience in developmentally appropriate assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies
  3. Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems
  4. Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people and their family, carers, and friends
