Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team at headspace Oran Park. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with young people and their families to identify support needs, goals, and develop care plans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality psycho-social assessments and evidence-based interventions to support young people with mild to moderate mental health issues.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, working closely with the young person and their family/carers.
- Collaborate with external service providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Current full registration as a clinical psychologist, registered psychologist, or occupational therapist (accredited with OTA as meeting the Australian Competency Standards for occupational therapists in mental health), or accreditation with the AASW as a mental health social worker (or working towards this).
- Experience in developmentally appropriate assessment and diagnosis of mental health disorders, and provision of Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based focused psychological strategies.
- Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people and their family, carers, and friends.
