Mental Health Youth Support Coordinator Position

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Youth Support Coordinator to join our team at headspace Oran Park, delivering high-quality mental health services to young people aged 12-25.
This is a full-time position available until 30 June 2025, with potential for extension based on continued funding. The successful candidate will be based in the Oran Park headspace centre.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Actively participating in community awareness activities promoting the health and wellbeing of young people and meaningful youth participation in the service
- Working collaboratively with young people, their families, and carers to identify support needs, goals, and develop care plans
- Providing practical assistance, referrals, and advocacy to young people and their families, as well as short-term counselling where indicated
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications in a relevant field, such as youth work, community welfare, social work, psychology, peer work, occupational therapy, or counselling, or demonstrated experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting the health and wellbeing needs of young people with mental health and/or substance use problems
- Experience working within a team environment, coordinating care, and ability to work from a recovery-oriented framework
- Computer literacy and data entry competency, including MS Office, and capacity to learn new technologies, including clinical software packages
