About the Role

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services is seeking a highly skilled Business Performance and Governance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Business Performance and Support Branch, you will play a critical role in driving business performance and governance across our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage statewide reporting and service-wide business systems, including identification of innovation solutions, in alignment with organizational priorities and whole-of-government policy.
  • Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of innovative improvements to business systems and reporting, to support streamlined and effective service delivery.
  • Provide business analysis and process improvement advice to lead the analysis, design and implementation of innovative governance and business service projects and programs to support and enhance effective service delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Review and interpret complex data and information to prepare simplified proposals, reports and executive briefings for dissemination to senior management, including managing the development of RFSQ content to meet departmental-wide reporting obligations.
  • Undertake research and analysis of emerging issues and trends in the systems and reporting, impacting the strategic direction of the department and develop supporting policy and solutions.
  • Support the development and operationalisation of operating concepts and risk-to-resource models, to monitor service-wide operations and performance outcomes.
  • Provide expertise in the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives to cultivate leading-edge systemisation and reporting innovations that drive service delivery excellence.
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and networks across the department and business partners to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and/or experience or formal qualifications in business analysis and/or reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience in the management of database management systems including SQL querying.
  • Knowledge of, or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organization.
