About the Job

As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance and repairs on a wide range of heavy military vehicles, including 4WDs, trucks, tracked and armoured vehicles, infantry personnel carriers, and even armoured tanks.

You will carry out technical inspections, classify vehicles, repair or replace worn or faulty parts, reassemble and test repaired or replaced parts, perform minor body repairs and trim repairs, test and repair electrical systems, and inspect vehicles to issue road worthiness certificates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification
  • Repair or replace worn or faulty parts
  • Reassemble, test, clean and adjust repaired or replaced parts
  • Carry out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs
  • Test and repair electrical systems
  • Inspect vehicles and issue road worthiness certificates

Requirements

">

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent level qualification. You must also have demonstrated experience in inspecting, repairing and maintaining Light, Medium and Heavy vehicles, as well as a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License. Additionally, you must be an Australian Citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
