Job Title: Engineering Design Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our consultancy, you will be responsible for designing and assessing structures and façades to withstand accidental or intentional explosive or other high-impact events.

You will work on protective design for complex infrastructure, government, and defense projects, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams. Your expertise will help ensure the safety and security of people and assets in high-risk environments.

In this role, you will have opportunities to grow into leadership roles aligned with your technical interests in addition to project management, marketing, or business development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and assess structures and façades to withstand accidental or intentional explosive or other high-impact events.
  • Work on protective design for complex infrastructure, government, and defense projects.
  • Collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure the safety and security of people and assets in high-risk environments.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  2. 4+ years of structural engineering design experience.
  3. 2+ years of project management with multidisciplinary coordination.
  4. Strong foundation in structural dynamics and engineering mechanics.
  5. Proficiency in steel, concrete, and masonry design from concept to construction.
  6. Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
  7. Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable.
  8. Strong organisational and quality management skills.
  9. Technologically proficient and quick to learn new tools.
  10. Experience across all phases of large-scale infrastructure projects.
  11. Experience in blast engineering or interest in the field.
  12. Familiarity with blast engineering guidelines.
  13. Chartered status (CPEng) with Engineers Australia, or close to achieving.
  14. Member or candidate for the Register of Security Engineers and Specialists (RSES).
  15. Australian Citizenship preferred (for Defense clearance eligibility), though international applicants with relevant experience will be considered.
