We are seeking recent or soon-to-be graduated Occupational Therapists and Social Workers to join our mental health program.

This is an exciting opportunity for allied health graduates to begin their career in a multidisciplinary graduate program with opportunities to work and learn alongside fellow graduate nurses, psychologists, social workers and occupational therapists.

  • Rotational programs with options across acute, community and specialty units
  • Dedicated mental health educators and senior OTs & SWs to support you
  • Multiple discipline-specific positions available - part-time options only (0.8 FTE)
About the Program

The Mental Health, Drugs & Alcohol Allied Health Graduate Program has multiple positions available for:

  • Social Worker (Grade 1)
  • Occupational Therapist (Grade 1)

You will complete 2 x 6 month rotations across the service, including:

  • Acute Inpatient Wards: Swanston Adult Acute Inpatient Centre
  • McKellar Mental Health & Wellbeing Unit
  • CRF / PARC: a step up and step down service
  • Hospital in the Home
  • Youth Mental Health Team (South)
  • Therapy Services (OT)
  • GGQ Mental Health & Wellbeing Local
  • ICMHWBS (OT only)
  • Continuing Care Services (Community MH) - Corio, Bellarine, Geelong West

Job Responsibilities

As a Grade 1 Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for beginning-level practice delivery of evidence-based discipline-specific assessment, treatment and support to consumers presenting with mental health and drug and alcohol problems.

  • Developing consumer-centered care plans
  • Provision of discipline-specific assessment and intervention plans
  • Participating in clinical reviews
  • Liaising with internal and external services to facilitate care provision
  • Keeping accurate clinical documentation
  • Providing connections and assistance for consumers and their families to access services that enrich and improve their wellbeing and health

All allied health graduates will work standard shifts alongside a more senior Occupational Therapist/Social Worker.

Graduate clinicians will be linked into a comprehensive individual and group supervision program.
