Contract Duration: 12 Month Max Term Contract
Role Overview: As an Associate in the Governance and Oversight team within Managed Fund Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective risk management and operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the completion of enhanced testing initiatives across critical risk domains to evaluate potential risks and identify areas for improvement in service provider systems and controls.
- Analyze questionnaires from Service Provider Monitoring reviews pertaining to our Investment Managers, Custodians, and Administrators to assess risk exposures and ensure compliance with Perpetual's Risk Appetite.
- Conduct daily reviews of systems and manage ongoing questionnaires, ensuring timely follow-up with providers to address outstanding items.
- Assist in preparing reports for Management, the Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee, and the Board regarding identified risks and the actions taken by service providers or Responsible Entities/Trustees to mitigate those risks.
- Engage in the discovery and investigation of incidents or breaches attributed to service providers.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Perpetual's requirements, risk appetite, managed funds, and service provider landscape.
- Foster effective relationships with service providers and internal stakeholders to enhance collaboration.
- Act in alignment with Perpetual's core values and objectives.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects as needed.
Candidate Profile:
- A degree in Law, Business, Accounting, or Economics is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in Financial Services, particularly in managed funds, investment management, or third-party oversight. Ideal for candidates with backgrounds in compliance, risk, audit, or operational roles.
- A solid understanding of service provider operations for managed investment schemes, along with knowledge of the legal, regulatory, compliance, and risk frameworks governing these schemes.
- Previous project management experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
