About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Canva. As a key member of our User Voice super team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions to improve the customer support experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with leadership to develop an AI/ML strategy and roadmap to enhance customer support.
  • Be accountable for delivering primary identified opportunities in UV, collaborating with product and engineering teams.
  • Lead the ML development of a natural language understanding/processing system that integrates seamlessly into the Canva Product.
  • Collaborate with MLEs across the organisation to leverage existing ML capabilities and work on cross-organisation problems and solutions.

Requirements:

  • More than 5 years of industry experience in machine learning/software engineering with a Product/SaaS company.
  • Experience with industry-level high-scale natural language systems.
  • Strong coding proficiency in Python, with experience building and deploying machine learning models.
  • Familiarity with several ML frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Langchain, and Huggingface.
  • Experience with RAG architectures and/or a good understanding of its application.
  • Strong understanding of computer science/engineering fundamentals and first principles.

We're looking to grow the team to continue to scale the impact of machine learning across Canva. You'll be joining a fast-moving cross-functional team, rapidly building and shipping machine learning-driven features to users and staff.
