Associate Production Manager

Job Summary:

The Associate Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production schedule, coordinating with coordinators, and managing production assistants. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive production schedule
  • Coordinate with coordinators to ensure smooth project execution
  • Manage and mentor production assistants
  • Work closely with the producer and production manager to bid shot work
  • Partner with PMs to drive targets and milestones
  • Report potential issues to the project producer and production manager
  • Correspond with cross-site teams regarding reviews, schedules, and resource needs
  • Schedule, track, and manage assigned work in Shotgrid
  • Keep a weekly synopsis of discipline and/or sequence accomplishments and next steps
  • Anticipate and communicate issues to leadership teams to reach solutions in a timely manner

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years in the VFX production environment
  • Proven work experience in VFX production, including strong working knowledge of post-production techniques and terminology
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Art, Drama, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, work with diverse personalities, and work within strict deadlines
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Macs/PCs, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of UNIX required
  • Ability to work on a computer/keyboard for long periods of time
  • Ability to work overtime on an ongoing basis
  • Ability to travel as needed
