Job Summary:

The Associate Production Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our productions. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities and meet strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain show schedules, working closely with Coordinators to ensure a comprehensive and organized approach.
  • Manage and mentor Production Coordinators and PAs, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Collaborate with Producers and Production Managers to bid shot work, drive targets, and meet milestones.
  • Partner with PMs to oversee big picture schedules, track client needs, and ensure all disciplines meet their targets.
  • Report potential issues to Project Producers and Production Managers, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on the schedule.
  • Correspond with cross-site teams regarding reviews, schedules, and resource needs.
  • Support discipline supervisors and leads in crewing, casting, and scheduling, ensuring alignment with the overall show schedule.
  • Schedule, track, and manage assigned work within Shotgrid, working closely with Production Managers to display information effectively.
  • Maintain a weekly synopsis of discipline and/or sequence accomplishments and next steps.
  • Anticipate and communicate issues to leadership teams to reach solutions in a timely manner.
  • Oversee outsourced work, ensuring vendors' bids and schedules align with the overall show schedule.
  • Technical ability and understanding required to run Linux, Windows, and Mac-based programs for reviews, clients, external vendors, and meetings.
  • Conference room, Viewstation, and basic technical setup and troubleshooting.
  • Prioritization and escalation of technical support issues.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • May accompany VFX Supervisors and Matchmovers on location for blue screen and principle photography work, overseeing camera reports, shot information sheets, and matchmove information.
  • Serve as the main point person between Production and VFX Editors, discussing cut lengths, key frame numbers, editorial discrepancies, and other specifics regarding film.
  • Reserve equipment and resources needed for location and stage work, monitoring schedules to avoid conflicts.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years in the VFX Production environment.
  • Proven work experience in VFX production, including strong working knowledge of post-production techniques and terminology.
  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Art, Drama, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects, work with diverse personalities, and work within strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to handle a variety of tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Macs/PCs, including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of UNIX required.
  • Ability to work on a computer/keyboard for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work overtime on an ongoing basis.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
