We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Consultant to join our team in the Healthcare Standards unit at The State Of Queensland.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant will be responsible for facilitating the delivery of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards to ensure best practice standards of care are met, and systems are in place that focus on risk, quality, and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and sustain the NSQHS Standard requirements for Recognising and Responding to Acute Deterioration (RRAD)
  • Translate evidence-based knowledge into practice, promote best practice, quality improvement, and research
  • Work collaboratively with senior executive members, managers, clinical leaders, multi-disciplinary team members, clinicians, patients, and consumers to improve patient safety outcomes
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent is a mandatory qualification for this position
  • Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to provide expert nursing leadership and coordination of recognition and response to acute deterioration systems
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines, and standards
