Strategic Projects and Governance Liaison Specialist

About the Role

The team coordinates strategic advice to oversight bodies and fosters partnerships to support transparent youth detention services.

Key activities include responding to formal requests, tracking recommendations, and supporting governance initiatives.

The Specialist contributes by coordinating oversight responses, developing governance frameworks, and creating reporting tools. Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills are essential for timely outputs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate and contribute to the development of strategic projects related to youth detention reform, ensuring alignment with departmental priorities.
  2. Undertake research and analysis of operational issues, including oversight recommendations, and work with internal business areas to develop solutions requiring a departmental response.
  3. Prepare high-quality written materials, including reports, briefings, and responses to oversight bodies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  4. Liaise with stakeholders to ensure collaborative approaches to reform and effective communication of project objectives.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of governance tools, such as tracking systems for recommendations.
  6. Provide advice on complex youth detention service delivery issues, including emerging trends and opportunities for improvement.
