Job Title:

  • Senior Fire Management Professional
Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Fire Management Professional to lead our fire management function and safeguard our community, environment, and assets.

The successful candidate will have expertise in bushland fire strategy, conservation, and natural area ecology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Bushland Reserve Fire Management Plan and fire mitigation programs
  • Lead planned burns, high-complexity fire operations, and bushfire response
  • Collaborate with Traditional Owners to integrate cultural fire practices
  • Represent the organization at regional and state fire management forums
  • Mentor and develop a small team while fostering a positive, inclusive workplace culture
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and relationship skills
  • Qualifications in Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management
  • Complex Planned Burn Supervisor accreditation
  • A C Class licence and 4WD capability
  • Additional qualifications such as an Advanced Diploma of Public Safety or White Card will be highly regarded
