As a seasoned tax professional, you will lead the tax compliance function for an Australian group, overseeing both direct and indirect tax obligations, managing tax forecasting, and collaborating with key internal stakeholders. You will set the tax agenda, uplift governance, and be the trusted adviser to Finance leadership on high-impact decisions.
This role offers long-term career growth, visibility, and a chance to make a measurable impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will have the opportunity to shape tax governance processes and lead a team of junior accountants while driving strategic tax decisions across the business.
With your expertise, you will ensure that all tax obligations are met, and that the company remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liability.

- Lead the quarterly tax forecasting process, producing insight-rich, accurate projections that inform executive decision-making and cash-flow planning.
- Prepare tax effect accounting and manage the delivery of tax disclosures in financial statements, liaising with external auditors and delivering to tight reporting timelines.
- Handle reviews and enquiries from the ATO and other tax regulators, providing expert guidance, mitigating risk, and securing clean, timely outcomes.
- Develop and lead a team of junior accountants while maintaining strong tax governance processes and controls, uplifting capability and modernising frameworks.
- A CA/CPA qualified professional with significant experience in tax compliance and reporting, ideally gained within a commercial in-house tax team.
- A proactive and hands-on individual, comfortable switching between detail and strategy, and adept at managing multiple priorities with ease.
- A strong communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, able to translate complex tax matters into clear, actionable advice.
- A leader with experience in mentoring and developing junior team members, setting standards, and building high-performing teams.
- Detail-oriented and deadline-driven, with a strong understanding of tax governance processes and the ability to design and implement effective, practical controls.
