About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Field Support Engineer to join our Engineering Field Support Partnership Services team at Energy Queensland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert technical advice and support to our construction, testing, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional engineering services and technical support for non-standard and external customer commissioning and maintenance works.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to ensure compliance, constructability, testing, and commissioning activities for external works.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate technical risks associated with construction and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct real-time investigations and reporting of plant failures and plant conditions, including emerging trends.
  • Provide advice, judgment, and recommendations to ensure timely return-to-service decisions for Energy Queensland and Powerlink Queensland assets.
Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the area of Electrical.
  • Detailed demonstrated knowledge of substation asset construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance activities and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience providing expert technical advice and recommendations, including technical risk identification and mitigation in relation to compliance, constructability, testing, and commissioning activities for external works.
  • 'C' Class licence essential as this position will require you to travel regularly.
  • Availability to participate in a standby roster.
