Job Title: Conservation Team Member

Job Summary

The Conservation Team is responsible for managing various natural areas within our city, including river and creek corridors, wetlands, saltmarsh, coastal and grassland reserves. Our goal is to enhance ecological values while delivering an exceptional community experience within our conservation reserves.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Protecting, enhancing, and maintaining our conservation reserves through maintenance and restoration activities.
  2. Supervising and developing other staff members to ensure effective teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  3. Leading ecological restoration works, including weed control, revegetation, and prescribed burning.
  4. Conducting site maintenance works, such as pruning, hedging, signage, fencing, and litter collection.
  5. Operating and maintaining equipment, such as spray rigs, brush cutters, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, mowers, and augers.
  6. Working outdoors in various environments and conditions.
  7. Assisting and working alongside community organizations.
  8. Representing the council in accordance with our organizational values.
