Leadership Role: Board Director for Cultural Heritage Organisation

The Golden Dragon Museum is seeking passionate and experienced individuals to join our Board of Directors.
As a Board Director, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our organisation's purpose, vision, and governance. You will bring your skills, experience, and expertise to support our growth and development.
The Board consists of up to nine (9) highly experienced volunteer Directors. We are seeking individuals with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strategic thinking and planning abilities, and a genuine interest in the Cultural and Arts Sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend Board meetings and respective committees.
- Actively participate in Board discussions and decision-making processes.
- Provide strategic guidance and direction to the organisation.
- Ensure organisational compliance with legal, statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate the organisation's performance and provide constructive feedback to the CEO.
Our Board is committed to strengthening diversity and seeks candidates from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, gender diverse backgrounds, and under 40/Emerging Leader backgrounds.
Skill Gaps and Diversity Opportunities
The Board requires a mix of skills and experience to work as a well-rounded team, to govern us both now and into the future. Based on skill assessment the following skill gaps were identified that could strengthen our Board:
- Corporate law
- Expertise in Government relations, stakeholder management, and advocacy
- Community engagement and public relations
