We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Technology team in Australia.

As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data across our Payments vertical.

This is a SQL-heavy role, focused on validating ETL processes, data transformations, and reporting quality across data pipelines and warehouses.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Developers, Product Managers, and QAs, to ensure test coverage and alignment with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and transformation logic across multiple systems and environments.
  • Write and execute advanced SQL queries to check data accuracy, transformations, and integrity across large datasets.
  • Build and enhance QA automation frameworks for data testing, contributing to standards and best practices from the ground up.
  • Mentor junior QA team members and provide technical guidance on BI testing best practices.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to drive data quality excellence.

Requirements:

  • Proven QA experience with a few years focused on BI, data warehouse, or analytics testing.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience validating large, complex datasets.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data governance principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Azure Dev Ops, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift.
  • Exposure to data quality frameworks or tools, such as Great Expectations or dbt tests.
  • ISTQB Advanced Level or equivalent certification.
