Job Title: Financial Leader

About the Role:

  • We are seeking a skilled financial professional to lead our finance function and drive business growth.

Hewitt is a leading integrated supplier of mixed organic protein products, operating in Australia and globally. Our purpose is 'Feeding the world with a system that lasts forever'.

The company operates grazing assets across Queensland, Central Australia (NT) and New South Wales; as well as a manufacturing facility in New South Wales.

We have created a sustainable and integrated supply chain designed to reward environmental, health-conscious customers.

Our approach focuses on:

  • Treating the land well.

Hewitt was formed through the integration of separate businesses, each focused on part of the supply chain. This consolidation has leveraged the capabilities of each business, resulting in a fully integrated protein production and supply company.

The Group CFO will lead the finance function to ensure effective accounting and finance strategies are in place to maximise shareholder value.

This includes developing and executing finance strategies, managing accounting, tax, valuations, risk management, audit, governance and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing sound financial strategies to support business growth;
  • Liaising with stakeholders on funding requirements;
  • Managing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and financial planning;
  • Ensuring robust risk mitigation policies and procedures;
  • Providing advice to the CEO and Board on financial performance;
  • Developing effective financial models for budgeting purposes;
  • Ensuring systems capture, record and systemize financial information efficiently;
  • Managing foreign investment and exchange transactions;
  • Supporting due diligence for M&A activity;
  • Sharing vision for digital transformation and system design.

Requirements:

  • Proven success as a CFO or similar role in an integrated supply chain environment;
  • Hands-on experience in developing financial strategies for significant growth initiatives;
  • Tech savvy with modelling expertise;
  • Leadership and management experience of a diverse finance team;
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage strategic finance functions;
  • M&A experience and consolidation of financial systems;
  • Experience leading group reporting functions;
  • Understanding of US GAAP and SOX;
  • Depth of understanding of food production and processing businesses.

Education:

  • Formal qualifications in accounting;
  • CA/CPA qualification;
  • Post graduate qualifications in business or finance an advantage.
