The role of a Teacher Librarian is multifaceted and essential in fostering a love of literature among students.
Key responsibilities include managing learning resources, delivering high-quality literature programs, collaborating with staff to integrate information resources, developing and managing digital collections, and performing library duties such as cataloguing, circulation, shelving, and stocktaking.
- Students' research enquiries are responded to, and they are supervised in the library.
- Literature programs tailored to student interests and curriculum needs are delivered.
- Digital collections are developed and managed.
A strong knowledge of early childhood to young adult literature, teaching excellence, and valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration are required.
Teacher Librarianship qualifications or willingness to undertake professional development will be highly regarded.
