Legal Advisor for Charitable Growth

At Youth4Youth, we are committed to expanding our charitable reach and advancing our services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing legal advice and guidance to support our growth.

Our charity is dedicated to improving the lives of young people across Australia through a peer-support network. As a successful candidate, you will be joining a diverse and dynamic team, collaborating to increase our impact and improve support provisions available to young people.

The ideal candidate will possess strong legal expertise, with experience in Charity Law and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results. You will report directly to our General Counsel, volunteering on an ad-hoc basis to provide legal support and guidance.

The role involves liaising with our General Counsel and Paralegal team to ensure timely completion of actions within mutually agreed timeframes. You will also provide comprehensive legal advice and support to our CEO and Board of Directors/Trustees on key legal issues presented to the charity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with the General Counsel and Paralegal team to ensure timely completion of actions
  • Provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the CEO and Board of Directors/Trustees
  • Support the development of long-term strategies, including supporting the advancement of the charity
  • Develop and lead legal training where appropriate
  • Prepare documents, evidence, arguments and identify legal precedents
Requirements:

We are seeking a qualified solicitor or recognised legal professional with recent experience in providing legal advice and support to charities or companies in Australia. Experience as a solicitor or legal professional within the non-profit/charity sector is essential.

The ideal candidate will possess detailed knowledge of specific laws and regulations pertaining to the industry, as well as local laws within Australia. They will also have the ability to interpret and convey complex legal information in an understandable format.

Public speaking skills and the ability to present and defend legal arguments are also highly desirable.

The Hiring Process:
