The Role

In light of significant growth, particularly in Mission Critical / Data Centres, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Melbourne. As a Senior Hydraulic Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing your strong technical background in hydraulic engineering to plan, design, and execute hydraulic building services projects.
  • Managing and coordinating the hydraulic aspects of complex projects.
  • Providing expertise and guidance on intricate hydraulic projects.
  • Developing detailed hydraulic engineering designs using design software, engineering principles, and relevant Australian Codes and Standards.
  • Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard and advanced engineering techniques and procedures to make decisions on a wide range of hydraulic issues.
  • Supporting project leaders and directors across various projects and disciplines.
  • Managing project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports, drawings, and specifications according to industry standards and regulations.
  • Taking ownership of all aspects of the work, including drawings, specifications, meeting schedules, and budgets, as well as directing assigned staff.
  • Interpreting engineering data for designers and drafters.
  • Monitoring project schedules and budgets.
  • Reviewing and summarizing applicable codes and recording them for inclusion in the design record.
  • Collaborating with team members, clients, contractors, and external consultants during the design process.
  • Attending and leading project meetings as required.
  • Maintaining excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Assisting the Group Leader in identifying and implementing personal training/CPD requirements.
  • Implementing and managing QA systems and procedures on all projects.
  • Implementing requirements for ISO9001, 45001, and ISO14001 as needed.
  • Assisting or executing any additional Digital Delivery requirements identified on the project.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
