Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead/Senior Robotics Engineer to join our Melbourne-based team. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing software for the control of robotics arms/robotic applications and the integration of sensors, gears, PLC, HMI, etc., across a range of complex machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software solutions for the control of robotics arms and robotic applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand client requirements and project scope.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers to improve their technical skills.
  • Manage design interfaces and conduct technical reviews.
  • Report on project progress, risks, and issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mechatronics, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Experience in robot programming (i.e., FANUC, ABB, KUKA robotics).
  • High-level PLC programming (ST, SFC, SL) is desirable.
  • Experience with efficient error reporting system design and fault-finding best practices.
  • Understanding of auxiliary functions/systems (i.e., computer vision).
