This 4-year temporary full-time role at 35 hours per week offers FlexTime, providing a unique chance to make a difference in regional communities during the transition to renewable energy.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and implementation of strategic policies and guidelines related to community, social, and land use planning considerations associated with Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) in regional NSW communities.

To achieve this goal, you will engage widely across agencies and community stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes and maximize opportunities for regional communities.

A key aspect of this role is implementing robust engagement strategies and developing policies that integrate within existing regulatory frameworks, local and State government planning processes, leading to benefits shared with regional communities.

The Policy Manager will collaborate closely with senior executives and agency counterparts to lead the development of innovative policies and guidelines supporting viable business opportunities for renewable energy projects and host communities.

To be successful, you must have an understanding of priorities and issues affecting regional and rural communities.

Professional experience developing policy or program advice, preferably in infrastructure project development/delivery or strategic/environmental planning, is essential.

You should possess strong communication and engagement skills, enabling you to develop stakeholder relationships in delivering major programs, initiatives, or infrastructure projects in regional settings.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental planning, law, renewable energy generation, energy markets, land use management, and/or other relevant disciplines are required, along with a current Australian Driver's license (Class C minimum) and willingness to travel.
