About the Job

This role requires a skilled and experienced individual to supervise clinical placements for Bachelor of Veterinary Nursing students. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing high-quality learning experiences to students in an authentic, relevant, engaging and student-centered manner.

The supervisor will work closely with industry partners to ensure that students receive the best possible education and training. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work effectively with students and industry partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver the curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies and platforms including online.
  • Develop high quality, current, industry relevant, evidence-based and copyright compliant online and face-to-face materials, lectures, tutorials and workshops.
  • Deliver learning experiences to students in an authentic, relevant, engaging and student-centered manner.
  • Communicate effectively with students and respond appropriately to their needs.
  • Assist with the implementation, ongoing development and student support including clinical placement supervision in the Work Integrated Learning (Clinical Placements) program in collaboration with the relevant coordinators.
Requirements

A Master's degree in a field relevant to Veterinary Nursing OR a relevant undergraduate degree and/or postgraduate qualification with significant experience in the veterinary industry is required. Current experience in veterinary clinical practice as a veterinary nurse or veterinarian is also essential.

Experience in supporting the teaching and/or mentoring of tertiary students is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills are required to liaise effectively with relevant industry and professional organisations.

Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Anti Discrimination, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement is also necessary.
