Job Title: Advanced Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled mental health professional to join our multidisciplinary team in the Intensive Care Unit at Prince of Wales Hospital.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a challenging, high acuity inpatient setting and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will also be able to work effectively as part of a team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in Mental Health at a post-graduate level
  • Provide comprehensive and intensive mental health care to patients in a supportive environment
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and carers to enhance service delivery
Selection Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to identify key messages and concerns when communicating with others
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients to enhance service delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and apply professional and ethical boundaries
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of recovery principles and commitment to consumer-focused care
