
Nutrition Department Director

We are seeking a seasoned professional to assume responsibility for the Nutrition & Dietetics department, ensuring high-quality health care services to the Northern Beaches community.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction to the team of clinical and food service dietitians, promoting exceptional patient care through facilitating hospital-wide committees and supporting the catering department in the provision of food and nutrition to admitted inpatients.
In this pivotal role, you will also make a significant impact by providing direct clinical care to patients through nutrition assessment and intervention, enabling them to meet their nutritional requirements for recovery and improve their health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and management to a dedicated team of clinical and food service dietitians.
- Contribute to strategic planning and service development in an evolving facility.
- Facilitate hospital-wide committees focusing on Nutrition and Food to enhance patient outcomes.
- Cultivate quality and service improvement projects.
- Deliver high standards of clinical care to admitted inpatients, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Offer dietary counseling and education to diverse patient populations.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent that satisfies the requirements for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia.
- Extensive acute care clinical dietetics experience across various services, including surgical and medical.
- Experience in strategic planning and service development for Nutrition and Dietetic services.
- Exceptional negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills.
