**About the Role**:

The Cleaner position plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment within our educational institution. This involves adhering to an approved school cleaning program, ensuring that all duties are completed to an acceptable standard as determined by their supervisor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various cleaning tasks including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning windows, pictures, doorknobs, taps, sinks, drinking fountains, lavatory basins, glassware, glass doors and cupboards.
  • Cleaning and sanitising toilet facilities and sick bays.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Cobweb and mildew control, utilising extendable equipment as necessary.
  • Cleaning of concrete, bitumen, asphalt and paved surfaces.
  • Disposal of rubbish and litter control including removal of material from drains and gutters between and/or surrounding buildings.
  • Dusting including student and office furniture, equipment and fans.
  • Hosing.
  • Removal of graffiti.
  • Sweeping and vacuuming.
  • Vinyl/timber floor maintenance including buffing, stripping and polishing.

Additionally, the Cleaner will be required to activate and disarm school security systems as needed, lock and unlock buildings, and liaise with management concerning purchase and/or replacement of cleaning materials.

For this role, applicants must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain a high level of cleaning support throughout the site.
  • Ensure all duties prescribed for the position are completed to an acceptable standard.
  • Adhere to the approved school cleaning program.
  • Activate and disarm school security systems as required.
  • Lock and unlock buildings.
