We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our energy sector advisory team. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for originating and executing complex M&A transactions that drive the transition to a sustainable, green future.
The OpportunityYou will work closely with clients across Australia, including energy project developers, investors, financiers, innovators, and public sector stakeholders to identify key value drivers and risk mitigation strategies.
- Perform origination work, including client relationship development.
- Lead the execution of transactions through the lifecycle, including financial modeling, diligence, financing, and transaction negotiation.
- Provide seamless integrated experiences for clients throughout the growth and optimization M&A journey.
Our focus spans various segments of the energy sector, including renewable energy generation, storage, transmission build out, and optimization strategies for infrastructure investors, developers, and utilities.
This is a hybrid position based in either Melbourne or Sydney.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement innovative strategies for energy sector M&A transactions that align with client objectives.
- Manage engagement teams to undertake acquisition or disposal of energy projects, portfolios, or businesses.
- Collaboratively coordinate and lead execution aspects of energy M&A transactions, encompassing origination ideas and proposals, bid strategy and documentation, due diligence processes, valuation assessments, capital structuring, and transaction negotiation.
- Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance issues specific to the energy sector.
- Oversee preparation of detailed investment materials, supporting financial analyses and models.
- Identify critical issues impacting purchase price negotiations and deal structuring efforts.
- Project manage teams effectively while overseeing information flows among key stakeholders.
- Contribute to business plan initiatives by building strong client relationships.
- Understand firm capabilities thoroughly and seek opportunities to offer additional services tailored to client needs.
- Proven experience in a transaction role within an advisory environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, energy market fundamentals, relevant technologies, supply chains, public policy implications, and general project development challenges and opportunities.
- A strong desire to make a difference in decarbonizing our economy.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, engineering, and/or law.
- Strong work ethic, adaptability towards new challenges, resilience, and creative thinking.
- Proficiency in assignment delivery and presentation of results.
