As a Driller's Assistant, you will be enrolled in a nationally recognised Certificate II in Drilling Operations. This 18-month program is designed to provide you with a solid foundation in drilling operations and prepare you for a successful career in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling inner tubes to retrieve core and empty into core trays;
  • Repetitive heavy lifting of more than 20kgs;
  • Housekeeping and maintenance of equipment, ensuring all workspaces are clean;
  • Identify potential hazards and communicate immediately to the Driller or Supervisor;

Requirements:

  • Current Australian manual driver's licence;
  • National Police Clearance (within 3 months of issue);
  • Clear ability to speak, read, write in fluent English;
  • A proactive attitude toward safety and hazard identification;
  • Ability to work 12-hour night or day shift work, and be away from home for two weeks at a time;
  • Mechanically minded and excellent problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment medical including drug & alcohol screen;
  • A positive work ethic in line with our vision and principles;

Desirable Skills:

  • Previous experience as a drillers assist surface or underground drilling operations;
  • First Aid Certificate;
  • Previous experience in labour-intensive, physical role;
