About this Opportunity

Central Queensland University is seeking a highly skilled Technical Officer to join our School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences. This is an exciting opportunity to provide technical support services to laboratory teaching and research activities across biological, biomedical, allied health, and chemical sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to staff and students in the utilisation of laboratory equipment and facilities.
  • Offer practical training in laboratory procedures and manage purchasing and lab setup and maintenance.
  • Contribute to process improvements and ensure health and safety compliance in labs.
Requirements
  • Completion of a degree or diploma level qualification with relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in providing specialised technical support and managing facilities and equipment across science disciplines.
  • Demonstrated commitment and knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to communicate professionally with people from all backgrounds.
