Recovery Focused Care Specialist

As a Team Leader, you will have the opportunity to lead and support the delivery of high-quality care that focuses on recovery.
This role involves utilizing your lived experience to provide recovery-oriented services to service users. You will work in a full-time position in Cardinia and be part of a team that provides mental health services.
About This Role
The Adult and Older Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing services act as a front door to the mental health system. Our services provide a continuum of care and support, including clinical interventions, wellbeing supports, and therapeutic support.
We are seeking a self-motivated Team Leader (Lived Expertise) who can champion the voice of lived experience, advocate for human rights, and provide an alternative to traditional mental health responses.
You will work with the team to integrate lived experience into their work, supporting service users by identifying how they would like to move towards what is possible in their lives and focusing on relational care.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize your lived expertise to promote an inclusive culture that values lived experience and active inclusion of service users, carers, and families.
- Work informed by Mind's Lived Experience Strategy, Peer Work Framework, and Model of Peer Work.
- Support development of a consistent narrative on the value of Lived Experience to the service.
- Lead delivery of services to people as defined in the Locals Service Model.
- Support, coach, and mentor staff to think deeply, develop creative solutions, and remain motivated.
- Provide practice supervision/line management to staff providing direct support to service users.
- Positively influence and contribute to a service and team culture focusing on relational practice.
Requirements
- Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core and/or Advanced training.
- Tertiary qualifications in Mental Health, Peer Work, or other health-related field.
- Experience as a peer worker or holding a designated lived experience role.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to coach and develop a team.
- Experience in Community Services, AOD, Mental Health, Disability, Social Welfare, Housing, Healthcare, or Government sectors.
