Job Opportunity

The Apprentice Fabricator will support the Workshop and Fleet team, gaining practical skills in fabrication and welding activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Workshop and Fleet team in fabrication and welding activities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the objectives of the Works and Services Business Unit.
  • Participate in on-the-job and off-the-job training as part of the apprenticeship.
  • Progress through the Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication course and develop practical knowledge and skills in welding, cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components using tools and machinery in a hands-on workshop environment.
Qualifications and Training:

The successful applicant will complete a Certificate III in Engineering, Fabrication course at North Wollongong TAFE, gaining and developing practical knowledge and skills in welding, cutting, shaping, and assembling metal components using tools and machinery in a hands-on workshop environment.

This opportunity is open to school leavers, mature age applicants, and/or those who have already commenced their Certificate III in Engineering.

Program Details:

The apprenticeship covers theoretical and practical requirements of on-the-job and off-the-job training. Upon completion, the apprentice will have formal qualifications with four years of practical experience and the ability to gain additional tickets such as forklift ticket, loader competency, and more.
