This is an exciting position involving challenging, complex assignments with outstanding growth opportunities in a civil engineering context.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate all activities with senior project managers, group managers, and division managers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts by networking, preparing statements of qualification, proposals, and contracts that meet client needs.
  • Manage relationships with design consultants and clients to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Develop concepts or schematic designs, including layout, grading, hydrology, and utilities, using expertise in site planning.
  • Research local and state regulations as they pertain to site planning to ensure compliance.
  • Investigate non-routine code issues and obtain interpretations from relevant authorities to ensure correct application.
  • Incorporate design concepts into design development and work collaboratively with the project team to produce high-quality construction documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Mastery of 12+ years of industry experience in civil engineering.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software essential for success in this role.
  • Licenses as a professional engineer (PE) in North Carolina are mandatory.
  • Excellent communication, strong written, oral, and client relation skills, experience interacting with clients, agencies, and other project stakeholders.
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes and regulations governing civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in project management, including cost control, budgeting, and quality assurance/quality control.
  • Able to successfully manage staff individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with public agencies, private entities, and/or municipalities to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Design experience with site development and best practices in civil engineering.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills to lead teams effectively.
  • Accustomed to working in a team environment on complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
