Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our Clinical Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate pharmacy student to gain work experience in both public and private hospital environments, as well as community and outpatient services.
The successful candidate will work closely with hospital pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to deliver a safe, effective, and high-quality level of pharmacy service to optimise outcomes for all patients and customers. The role involves receiving requests for medication supply from all areas, assembling and delivering dispensed medications, monitoring and maintaining appropriate stock levels in the pharmacy and in clinical area imprest sites across the campus, cold chain management of refrigerated and frozen medications, answering phone calls from both internal and external customers and patients, providing responsive customer-focused service, and potentially undertaking training in our on-site production facility which compounds various sterile, non-sterile, and cytotoxic medications.
This is a casual position, predominantly working evening, weekend, and public holiday shifts in the dispensary, with opportunities for additional weekday shifts during university breaks. You will be based at our South Brisbane campus, with potential opportunities to also work at Mater Springfield and Mater Redland.
Job Responsibilities- Receiving requests for medication supply from all areas
- Assembling and delivering dispensed medications
- Monitoring and maintaining appropriate stock levels in the pharmacy and in clinical area imprest sites
- Cold chain management of refrigerated and frozen medications
- Answering phone calls from both internal and external customers and patients
Requirements
- Studying Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2025
- Professional attitude, effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work evenings (from 5:00 pm) on weeknights
- Ability to work full days (between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm) on weekends and public holidays
- Willingness to work in a roster with other pharmacy students
