AGL Energy is a leading Australian energy company, and we're looking for an experienced professional to join our team as an Energy Expansion Strategist.
We're seeking someone with a strong analytical mindset and excellent communication skills to drive market expansion and strategic growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and evaluating merger and acquisition opportunities, supporting due diligence, and aiding in the integration of acquired businesses.
This role involves collaborating with AGL's Corporate Strategy Team and other resources across Customer Markets to contribute to the strategic roadmap by leveraging data and market insights. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to define strategic and operational requirements, monitor market trends, and enhance aggregation models.
About the Role:
The Energy Expansion Strategist will play a critical role in driving business growth and expansion. You'll assist in the identification of M&A opportunities, conduct initial market discussions, and support corporate development targets. This includes helping define strategic and operational requirements to align with aggregator and customer market strategies.
You'll analyse financial and operational aspects of potential M&A targets with cross-functional teams and prepare business cases and strategic options for senior leaders. Your findings and reports will be compiled for the executive team during the due diligence process.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, or a related field, along with experience in mergers and acquisitions, market analysis within the energy or related industries. You'll possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Salary:
We offer a competitive salary package, including a base salary of $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is a full-time position based in Docklands VIC 3008, with a job family group of Sales.
