About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Manager to lead our Financial Crime Surveillance Unit, responsible for detecting, deterring, and fighting financial crime. As a key member of our Risk Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our financial systems and protecting our customers from financial crime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Oversee the performance of the Financial Crime Surveillance Unit, driving team performance through clear objectives, coaching, development, recruitment, and recognition of customer-focused behaviors.
  • Operational Management: Lead operations with AOM principles, managing resources, forecasting, KPIs, and teams to drive performance, resolve issues, and ensure customer-focused excellence.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and manage key internal and offshore relationships to enhance customer experience, ensure partner accountability, and drive process improvements. Lead a customer-focused culture, oversee incident management, and contribute to service level agreement development for partners.
  • Business Leadership: Lead the Government Notices Unit to meet SLAs and compliance obligations, manage forecasting and work progress, and apply AOM principles for resource management. Maintain relationships with law enforcement and third-party organizations, contribute to the FCS business plan, and ensure timely risk identification and remediation.
  • Projects and Continuous Improvement: Lead process improvements, offer expertise on initiatives, ensure accurate documentation, and support Team Managers in delivering operational and commercial value.
Requirements
  • Legal qualification (Australian preferred, international considered) with specialisation in administrative or public law, and/or data privacy.
  • Strong knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) laws, specifically in handling statutory notices.
  • Proficient in understanding and applying business processes, support systems, and AOM practices.
  • Ability to leverage business metrics for managing operations and improving efficiency.
  • Proven experience in managing internal stakeholder relationships and driving successful outcomes.
  • Experience in leading and managing team-based change initiatives.
  • Thorough understanding and application of legal, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Expertise in risk management principles and their practical application.
