Exciting Opportunity for a Dams Engineer

GHD is seeking an experienced Dams Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. As a key member of our Dams and Tailings team, you will have the opportunity to develop your career while working on a variety of dams projects, including water dams and tailings dams for municipal, mining, agriculture, and hydropower uses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical delivery on dams projects, focusing on geotechnical, structural, and design management skills.
  • Actively participate in client relationship management, business development, proposal development, and technical analysis.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Develop client relationships and business development skills under mentorship from team leaders and senior engineers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in dams engineering.
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) or higher qualifications.
  • Knowledge of design of a broad range of dam types, including embankment and concrete dams.
  • Knowledge of spillway design, dam design, outlet and intake tower design, hydropower facilities, dam safety, and risk assessments.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplined teams, including geologists, structural engineers, hydraulic engineers, and hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical engineers.
