Water Resiliency and Leadership Opportunities

GHD is seeking an experienced Dams Engineer to join our dynamic team, based in Sydney. This exciting role will allow you to develop your career while working with a highly capable and dynamic team.

Our Dams team is fast-growing and leaders in the industry, employing over 100 dams engineers in Australia alone and with growing international capability. GHD has an exciting pipeline of major dam and pumped hydro projects across Australia and New Zealand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical delivery for a broad range of dams projects, including water dams and tailings dams for various uses.
  • Apply geotechnical, structural, and/or design management skills to dams and tailings projects.
  • Participate in client relationship management, business development, proposal development, and technical analysis.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Develop client relationships and business development skills under mentorship from team leaders and senior engineers.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in dams engineering.
  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree (Civil) or higher qualifications.
  • Knowledge of design for a broad range of dam types, including embankment and concrete dams.
  • Knowledge of elements such as spillway design, dam design, outlet and intake tower design, hydropower facilities, dam safety, and risk assessments.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplined teams, including geologists, structural engineers, hydraulic engineers, and hydro-mechanical and electro-mechanical engineers.
