Data Centre Operations Executive

Our organization seeks a seasoned Data Centre Operations Executive to manage day-to-day operations of our data centres. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all systems and equipment.
Main Responsibilities- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data centre technicians and operators
- Guide, train, and educate data operations technicians on best practices related to service owner issues
- Manage and deliver mid-size projects
- Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
- Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
- Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Write and deliver performance reviews for staff
- Constantly improve all processes and procedures
- Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors
The AWS Infrastructure Services team owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centres and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to innovation.
Requirements- 4+ years people management experience with direct reports in an IT-related field
- 4+ years experience in managing IT systems
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of change concepts, problem and incident management
- Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or equivalent professional or military experience
- Project Management experience
- Linux/UNIX certification and/or administration experience
- Hardware architectures knowledge and troubleshooting experience
