Purchasing Officer Job Description

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Officer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in helping us roll out the new system to Victoria.

As a key member of our procurement team, you will be empowered to make and drive change across the organisation and our supplier ecosystem.

  • Assist in raising Requestion Orders, Purchase Orders, and Vendor Onboarding.
  • Provide regular reporting of procurement activities and cost savings achieved.
  • Establish logistics relationships to guarantee maximum efficiency, productivity, and benefit to overall business.
  • Provide administrative support on a day-to-day basis and perform ad-hoc tasks as required for the Procurement Director and Commercial Director.
  • Maintain a record of procurement processes, decisions, and contractual arrangements undertaken, ensuring an audit trail is adequately maintained and documented for probity, accountability, and audit purposes.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Relevant procurement and/or logistics experience.
  • Understanding of the Requestion to Pay process, including systems and tools.
  • Experience with ERP Systems, preferably JD Edwards Oracle.
  • Knowledge of social enterprises and the social procurement framework is highly beneficial but not a requirement.
