
Breast and Endocrine Surgery Care Specialist

This ongoing part-time Registered Nurse position offers the opportunity to work in a specialized unit at Flinders Medical Centre, providing expert care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures. You'll collaborate with leading surgeons and healthcare professionals in a dynamic environment that values clinical excellence and innovation.
The role is responsible for providing nursing services within the breast and endocrine surgical unit, assisting in chaperoning, outpatient clinic flow, clinical and care coordination, as well as assisting the radiology department with procedures.
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing proficient, person-centred, clinical nursing care and individual case management to patients with breast cancers / endocrine conditions.
- Coordinating and monitoring patient care plans for individuals around surgery and ongoing treatments / follow-up to ensure appropriate care outcomes are achieved daily.
- Contributing to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours.
- Assisting and supporting Clinical Nurses or equivalent in providing clinical and educational activities in the outpatient setting.
- Providing health promotion and education to patients, groups, and carers to improve health outcomes.
- Supporting nursing practice and learning experiences for students undertaking clinical placements, orientation for new staff, and preceptorship of graduates.
The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills. They should also have demonstrated competence in outpatient, surgical, or medical nursing practice in accordance with relevant standards.
Qualifications relevant to Breast / Endocrine Surgery and Conditions are essential, as is the ability to work within a team framework that fosters staff development.

- Registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
