Optimizing Water Infrastructure Performance Specialist

At Sydney Water, we're innovating a sustainable future where every drop counts. We seek a strong, innovative Water System Performance Manager to enable our vision by leading infrastructure strategy through performance optimization, cost efficiency, and regulatory success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee product performance for Water and Recycled Water across Sydney Water, managing up to 10 indirect reports.
  • Evaluate and optimize the balance between risk, service performance, and investment for water systems, leveraging organizational levers at the executive leadership level.
  • Make strategic decisions to ensure Asset Operator meets service expectations, including ADWG / ARWG requirements, driving customer-centric choices that optimize performance, risk, and cost.
  • Lead improvements in product, service, system, and asset performance to ensure optimal outcomes across Sydney Water.
  • Represent Sydney Water in public forums, with regulators and industry bodies, fostering strong relationships and managing high-level communications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • SIGNIFICANT RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IN ENGINEERING AND INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING AT LEAST 5 YEARS IN A BUSINESS MANAGEMENT ROLE.
  • DEMONSTRATED LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE AT BOTH TEAM AND MANAGEMENT LEVELS.
  • ASSET MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE: DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF BEST PRACTICES IN ASSET MANAGEMENT, INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS AND ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES.
  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: PROVEN TRACK RECORD IN OPTIMISING THE BALANCE BETWEEN RISK, COST, AND PERFORMANCE TO ACHIEVE WATER SERVICE AND REGULATORY OUTCOMES.
  • TERTIARY QUALIFICATIONS IN ENGINEERING, TECHNICAL DISCIPLINE, BUSINESS, OR MANAGEMENT, WITH RELEVANT POSTGRADUATE QUALIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE.
