The RoleWe're seeking a skilled Key Clinician to join our Specialist Older Adult Consultation Service (SOACS) team at Broadmeadows. As a Key Clinician, you'll work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide specialist aged mental health services to older adults in the north. You'll have the opportunity to use your expertise to optimize the health and wellbeing of our consumers, and you'll be supported in your career development through professional development and leadership opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide specialist aged mental health services to older adults in the north
- Work collaboratively with the SOACS team to develop and implement care plans
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop treatment plans
- Provide anxiety management, supportive psychotherapy, and psychoeducation interventions
- Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and services
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Experience working in mental health, particularly in community mental health services
- Good working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and Wellbeing Act
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and autonomously
- Minimum of 12 months post-graduate experience in the discipline of practice
- Recent experience working in clinical fields of mental health
- Well-developed written skills and ability to complete comprehensive assessments and clinical documentation
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to and manage competing demands
- Comprehensive knowledge of the issues faced by older people with a mental illness and their families/carers
